Telegram messages have high read rates. Notifications reach the lock screen, replies typically arrive within minutes, and there is no spam folder. For lead generation that depends on a conversation, the path from ad to chat is shorter than a landing page form and often converts better.
Telegram is a native app rather than a web page, and that is what prevents standard measurement. Meta sees clicks; your Telegram admin sees joins and messages. Without a link between the two, creative decisions are based on click-through rate, the weakest signal in the funnel.
Illustrative figures. €1,200 is spent across three creatives, producing 2,400 clicks, 1,510 bot starts, 640 group joins, 118 DMs and 31 deposits worth €4,650. Creative C has the highest click-through rate and the lowest join rate. Creative A accounts for 22 of the 31 deposits. Judged on click-through rate alone, creative A would have been paused.
