Telegram funnel audit: measure how much of your funnel you can see
Ten questions about tracking, attribution and follow-up. The result is a score out of 100 and the three areas to address first. Answers are not stored and no email address is required.

What the audit checks
A Telegram funnel has five stages that can be measured: the ad click, the arrival in Telegram, the join or bot start, the conversation, and the deposit. Most teams see the first stage in their ads manager and the last one in a spreadsheet, with nothing in between. The questions above assess each stage and the integrations that connect them, then weight the answers by how much revenue visibility each gap costs. A missing deposit feed weighs more heavily than inconsistent UTM naming, and the score reflects that.
Why the middle of the funnel is not measured
The Meta Pixel, the TikTok Pixel and Google's tag are all browser scripts. Telegram is an app. When a visitor leaves your landing page for a chat, every browser-side tool loses visibility at the same moment. The ad platform records a click and receives nothing further, so it optimises for clicks. The solution is server-side: keep the click id on your own server, hand the visitor a Telegram link that carries it, let a bot report what happens next, and send the outcome back through the platform's conversions API. Once that is in place, the platform learns from joins and deposits instead of clicks.
Reading your score
- Below 40: campaigns are optimised on clicks alone. Start with per-campaign tracking links and a bot that reports joins.
- 40 to 70: joins are visible but revenue is not. Record deposits through a postback or the event API and report them as purchases.
- Above 70: conversions are reported end to end. Further gains come from match quality, cohort reporting and follow-up speed.
What Tellmetric adds
Tellmetric is the server-side piece: tracking links that mint a click id per visitor, single-use invites and bot deep links that attribute joins deterministically, a standard postback endpoint and event API for deposits, and delivery to Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Spotify and Google Ads with hashed identifiers and deduplication. The dashboard shows the funnel by campaign, join cohorts with their later revenue, and a match-quality panel so you know how much of what you send the platforms can use. The Free plan requires no card; Pro adds the other ad platforms and the cohort reports.
Frequently asked questions
Is anything I answer here saved?
No. The score is computed in your browser and disappears when you leave the page.
Can a pixel track leads inside Telegram?
No. Pixels run in web pages. Only a server-side integration with your bot can observe joins, messages and payments.
What should I track at minimum?
Which campaign each click came from, whether the person joined or started the bot, and whether they deposited. Everything else is refinement.
Do I need a developer?
Not for Meta. Creating a workspace, connecting a bot token and entering a dataset ID and access token is sufficient. Deposits from a tracker or broker require a single postback URL.
Does this cover other ad platforms?
Yes. The same click id logic applies to ttclid, gclid, ScCid and rdt_cid, and Tellmetric delivers to Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Spotify and Google Ads from one event store.
